Starring larger than life former wrestling megastar John Cena. Kelly Carlson is excellent as the wife / damsel in distress. Robert Patrick is wonderful as the head baddie. As a fan of explosions this film is a solid gold winner. Did I mention? The explosions. They are quite simply AWESOME! The Marine may not be very original at all but what it lacks in originality it more than makes up for with grand, impressive fireballs. From the first gas station monster via a colossal shack/bar blast thru to the grand final destruction of a building using a vehicle it’s ALL good! There’s also some impressive gunplay and fight scenes.
